Solar station and heat pump: a smart solution for a gas-independent home

In recent years, more and more families and businesses in Armenia have been thinking not only about reducing electricity costs, but also about becoming as independent as possible from gas. One of the most effective solutions for this goal is the combined use of a solar plant and a heat pump. Together, these two systems can provide heating, cooling, hot water, and underfloor heating for a home, using electricity generated primarily from solar energy.

What is a heat pump?

A heat pump is a modern and energy-saving heating system that takes thermal energy from the outside environment and transfers it inside the premises, with 3-5 times less energy consumption compared to gas boilers. Why is a heat pump more efficient than a solar plant?

The heat pump runs on electricity, and the solar station produces that electricity, as a result, the solar station becomes not only a solution that reduces the electricity bill, but the basis of the entire energy system of the house.

The combination of a solar plant and a heat pump is especially important for homes or businesses where there is no gas, installing a gas supply is difficult or expensive, or the owner wants to reduce dependence on gas in the long term.

In many settlements, installing gas requires time, additional documentation, construction work, and significant financial resources. In the case of a heat pump, it is possible to organize heating without gas and provide the basic climatic requirements of the house with a single device.

This is especially important for newly built private homes, hotels, industrial premises, agricultural farms, and buildings that want to have a modern and energy-efficient heating system.

If a heat pump is selected without professional calculation, it may operate inefficiently, turn on and off more frequently, or fail to provide the required temperature.

The same applies to the solar plant: it must be designed not only by calculating the current electricity consumption of the house, but also the future consumption of the heat pump.
