Solar energy production in Armenia has reached a new level.

Armenia continues to actively expand its solar energy sector, aiming to increase the share of renewable energy production and strengthen the country’s energy independence. As of today, solar power plants with a total installed capacity of around 1,045 MW are connected to Armenia’s national energy system — a historic milestone for the country.
According to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, large-scale programs are underway to develop and integrate new solar power plants, which will significantly boost solar energy production in the coming years.
The ministry estimates that thanks to the use of solar energy, Armenia saves approximately 50 billion AMD annually, underscoring the high economic efficiency of the sector. This demonstrates that green energy can serve not only as an environmental solution but also as a key driver of economic development.

EcoVille’s Deputy Director, Emil Stepanyan, speaking about the importance of the sector on Public Television, stated:

“Solar energy is not only an environmentally clean and long-term sustainable solution, but also a highly efficient direction for Armenia from an economic perspective. We are confident that the development of green energy will become one of the key pillars of our country’s progress.”

According to Stepanyan, Armenia has exceptional natural conditions with a high level of solar irradiation, which enables the rapid development of the sector — promoting sustainable growth, the creation of new jobs, and the attraction of investments.

All of this demonstrates that Armenia has the potential to become one of the regional leaders in renewable energy, ensuring a real transition toward a green and energy-independent future.
